Your access details (IP address, user root and password) are in your VPS welcome email.

  • Linux or Mac: open a terminal and run ssh root@YOUR_IP.
  • Windows 10 or 11: open Terminal or PowerShell and run the same command. You can also use PuTTY (host: your IP, port 22).

The first time you will be asked to confirm the server fingerprint: type yes. Then type the password (it is not shown while typing; this is normal).

First things to do:

  1. Change the root password: passwd
  2. Update the system: apt update && apt upgrade -y
